File paperwork to create your businessNow you are ready to send in the documents to form your new business! The filing fee is $120 for a Maryland corporation or $100 for a Maryland LLC. Information you’ll need to include in your Maryland business filing: – Business name and purpose – Registered agent name and address(es) – Business address – Duration of entity – Names and addresses of initial members/directors – Organizer/incoporator must sign the document – Names, address, and phone number of filer – Authorized stock information The Maryland SDAT will take about 8-10 weeks to process your articles of incorporation or organization if you mail them in. Register with the Department of RevenueAfter you form your company, you can register online for income tax withholding and Maryland sales tax using the Maryland Combined Registration Online Application https://interactive.marylandtaxes.com/webapps/comptrollercra/RegistrationType.asp or you can download the paper form and mail it. Get a business licenseNot all Maryland businesses need a state license. You can call the Clerk of the Circuit Court in the county where your business will be located or you can contact the State License Bureau to find out if your business needs a Maryland business license.
